This is a one-person project, not a corporation. I'm not trying to harvest your data, sell your information, or do anything weird with your email address or your writing. Here's what's actually going on.
If you sign up for the Myutic mailing list, I collect your email address. That's it.
To let you know when Myutic launches, and occasionally to share meaningful development updates along the way. I'm not going to spam you.
Your email is stored through MailerLite, which handles the mailing list. MailerLite has its own privacy policy. Nobody else gets your data. I don't sell it, share it, or trade it.
When Myutic launches, its AI mentor (the Socratic Sommelier) will be powered by third-party AI providers accessed through paid API agreements. At launch, the primary provider is Google's Gemini Flash, with Anthropic's Claude Haiku and Mistral's Medium 3 as active fallbacks.
All three providers explicitly prohibit using API-submitted data for model training under their respective terms of service (Gemini API Terms, Anthropic Privacy Center, Mistral Commercial Terms). Your writing is sent to these providers only to generate Socratic questions and validate session integrity. It is never stored by them for training or any other purpose beyond providing the immediate response.
Myutic itself stores your writing sessions server-side to maintain your persistent civilization, track progression, and enable the Socratic Sommelier to reference your recent work within a session. I will never sell, license, or otherwise distribute your writing to anyone. Your creative work belongs to you.
Long-term, my goal is to move all AI inference to proprietary models running Myutic-side, eliminating third-party data transmission entirely.
The current landing page uses only a localStorage preference for the dark/light theme toggle. No cookies, no analytics. When I add analytics to the full product, I'll update this page before it goes live.
Every email I send includes an unsubscribe link. Click it and you're off the list immediately. If you want me to delete your data entirely, email me at gabe@myutic.com and I'll take care of it.
If you're in the EU, you have rights under GDPR including access, correction, deletion, and portability of your data. If you're in California, CCPA gives you similar protections. In both cases, just email me and I'll handle it. There's one person on the other end of that inbox, and it's me.
If this policy changes in any meaningful way, I'll note it here with an updated date. I'm not going to sneak anything past you.
